Objectives

1. Promote the effective and efficient use of available permitted volumes of water to all its members within district.
2. To enforce compliance of water users to the terms and conditions of water permits. establish an inspectorate and adjudication mechanism for the determination of infringements and breaches by water users of the terms and conditions of permits.
3. Supervise and regulate the distribution and usage of water while ensuring installation of measuring devices in all abstractions and diversions of water.
4. Be consistently alert to technological advancement by adopt new practices which will improve water use and operating system efficiency.

EEWUD Objectives

5. Maintain true accounts of its expenditures, hold general meetings at least once a year and disclose accounts on its activities.
6. Coordinate & monitor water quality and land use practices to ensure water resource and environmental protection within area of operation.
7. Enhance resource mobilization and effective use of funds.
8. Build capacity and improve work environment.
9. Maintain stakeholder relations and collaboration with local and external stakeholders.
10. Establish sound public relations, marketing and communications with internal and external publics.
11. To exercise powers delegated by the river basin authority in terms of section 75 (2) (a) of the act.
12. Conduct research on any discipline relevant to the operations of the district.
